Stop Giving the Fool an Audience.
Audacious daily reports do nothing to remove the stain on this nation. Dispense with the cheap satisfaction of ridicule, and let’s move on.
America’s sane conscience must calmly stand, and without fanfare or the flailing of arms, take an ample and unceremonious shoe to the cockroach on our wall.
Most of us heard it growing up: Don’t give a fool an audience. Whether it was grandma, or a teacher, or someone else, most of us heard that short retort. Mostly when we heard it, we were blabbing about something that someone else did wrong.
Mom always said: “You need to worry about you, Peter Graves Roberts,” and she was right. I may not have admitted that or liked it back then. But the older I get, the more right she is. When someone is working as hard as they can to disrupt order, we only prolong their time in the spotlight by acknowledging them.
